Home Group Sermon Series - 2022
Be Determined: Nehemiah (Part 2) May - July
We continue our series into the Old Testament book of Nehemiah that takes us through to the end of July. The wall has been built and brings to an end the first phase of Nehemiah's work. Now it get’s even more interesting as Nehemiah attempts to Reform the Community from chapter eight onwards.
Nehemiah has been an exciting book to study and gives us good examples of determination, obedience and prayer. Nehemiah emphasises the value of partnership, demonstrates godly leadership and inspires confidence. Taking a closer look at the life and times of Nehemiah, both historically and spiritually, will be extremely helpful to us as we engage with the changing nature of what it means to be church in a post-lockdown world.

Be Determined: Nehemiah (Part 1) January - April
The passing of one year, and the dawn of another, is often a time for us to renew a sense of purpose - this is particularly true as we look forward to all that 2022 will bring our way - especially as we put the COVID challenges of 2021 behind us. With that in mind, we begin a new Home Group series into the Old Testament book of Nehemiah that will take us, on/off, through to the end of July. This is an exciting book to study as it records the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile. We find many examples of obedience, prayer and determination and we see the value of collaborative working. There is also some great imagery and, in the midst of all this, Nehemiah demonstrates inspiring godly leadership. Taking a closer look at the life and times of Nehemiah, both historically and spiritually, will be extremely helpful to us as we engage with the changing nature of what it means to be church in a post-lockdown world.
