Home Group Sermon Series - 2016
Zechariah God’s Big Plan For A Struggling People
Zechariah, unusually for the Prophets, had a ministry of encouragement and his task was to bring comforting words to the struggling people of God. That’s because Israel had returned from exile, but home was certainly not all they had hoped for. This series, will open up Zechariah’s reassuring and revitalising message for: God’s discouraged people: His great international building project; His solution to sin; His promised Shepherd-King; and His great day of judgment and salvation. This series, as we look forward to the Advent/Christmas season, will also help us to think afresh about what it mean for us, practically, living as Christians in today’s world. They will help us to live a life shaped, not by ‘these days’ but ‘that day’ when God’s plan comes to glorious fruition.
The Last Words Of Jesus
This Home Group series is based on Jesus’ last words to His disciples in the Upper Room, recorded in John’s Gospel chapters 13-17. This was the time Jesus prepared His disciples for the future that was to come. These words of Jesus were true two thousand years ago, and remain true to us today - and should be taken very seriously by every Christian. It is sure to be a fascinating series as we examine the essence of all that Jesus wanted His disciples, and us, to know.
Fruit That Is Never Out Of Season (Part 2)
We continue our series examining, individually, the Fruit of the Holy Spirit which the Apostle Paul draws attention to in Galatians 5:22. Whilst we know a Spiritual Gift is given to whom God chooses, (it's interesting to note that love is not listed as a Spiritual Gift in 1 Corinthians 12 - 14) the Fruit of the Spirit, however, is for every one of us who are Christians - when the natural outpouring of the love of God in our hearts should be a natural outpouring of the Fruit of the Spirit in our lives - Fruit that is never out of season!
