Our
Services & Activities
Join us!
As a community of Christians,
we’re devoted to building an engaged, passionate, spiritually healthy
community of people that makes up St John’s. We’re also devoted to
engaging and impacting one another and others, believing that Jesus
himself set an example of service and that we’ve been given the
responsibility to follow it.
We invite you to take this
journey with us—there are a number of opportunities where you can get
involved:
Sunday Services
Participate in our Sunday
services as we study and celebrate the arrival of God’s kingdom. On
arriving at St John’s you will be greeted warmly. You will be given
space to 'go at your own pace'. Babies and children are welcomed at St
John's and they will be accepted just as they are 'as children'. Jesus
himself made it clear that their should be a special welcome for
children, just as there is for everyone else. St John's is vibrant, we
sing hymns and songs wholeheartedly accompanied by a variety of
instruments, we listen and grapple with God's word the Bible and
endeavour to live out the teachings of Jesus. We share Holy Communion
together as a community reconciled through Christ Jesus' death and
resurrection.

Prayer Group
Prayer is central to the life of St.
John’s. We have an informal Prayer Group which meets within the church
on the first and third Saturday mornings of each month between 9am and
10am. All are welcome as we commit all aspects of our churches mission
and ministry to God.
Home Groups
There are opportunities to join a midweek group, where smaller groups
of people meet together, explore, chatter and discuss what it means to
follow the teachings of Jesus in their daily lives. Its an opportunity
to get to know one another, engender a sense of belonging and community.
Serving
Become a volunteer at St John’s and add to the number of people serving
our community, or get involved in one of our outreach initiatives
Why not visit the ‘Links’ page, where amongst other things you will
find the websites of charities and projects we support, locally,
nationally and internationally.
And.....
If you are new to the church and want to find out more
about the Christian faith, or just want to talk and ask some questions;
well there are often opportunities to do this along with others in an
informal gathering, with drinks and nibbles – The Alpha Course would be
one such example. So please keep an eye on the ‘Notices and events’ on
this website or contact Paul Gambling, the vicar.
