Paul Carr and Family

Paul is 45 years of age, is originally from Sunderland and still supports the only team that matters in the North East!  He and Paula, who is a health visitor for South West Essex PCT, have been married for over 21 years, and have two children, Benjamin (11) and Annabel (7).  Benjamin loves football, playing darts and watching lots of sport on TV with daddy.  Annabel loves to dance, is very artistic and loves practising extreme makeovers on daddy!  Prior to ordination Paul worked for ten years in sales and management in the Building Trade followed by several years in the Prison Service.  After training at Oak Hill Theological College, and playing for the Saracens Rugby Union Football Team whilst he was there (for the veterans!)  he was ordained in 1997 and served his curacy in Handforth (Chester Diocese) before becoming the vicar in Chadwell Heath in April 2001. Paul relaxes through listening to music on his ipod (he appreciates many forms of music, though he have a soft spot for rock and blues).  He enjoys most sports and loves to spend time on holiday with his family - somewhere nice and warm and sunny!

Paul is currently a member of Diocesan Synod, is studying for an MA, and is a trustee of a Christian Charity 'Just Care' working, primarily, with children and orphans in Uganda.  He also actively supports the work of Operation Christian Child by serving as a pastor on distribution teams.

Paul and his family are looking forward, very much, to working alongside the Billericay and Little Burstead churches and team members as, together, we look forward to discerning the future God has for us.  They are looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead and are looking forward to getting to know all of you in due course.  An induction service is planned sometime early June and they will look forward to many invitations to BBQ's once they are settled into their new home!
