Groups that meet regularly at St Johns

Prayer Group
Prayer is central to the life of St. John’s. We have an informal Prayer Group which meets within the church on the first and third Saturday mornings of each month between 9am and 10am. All are welcome as we commit all aspects of our churches mission and ministry to God.

For more information contact Linda Russ (634781).

Home Groups
An important part of our church life is meeting regularly within small groups to look together at the Bible and discuss how we apply it to our busy and diverse lives here in Billericay. Home Groups meet at different locations and at different times on different weekdays.

For more information contact Julie Todman (623809).

Parent & Toddler Group
Our Parent and Toddler group meets at the Church Centre each Monday afternoon (during term time) from 1.15pm until 2.45pm. The session includes free play, craft, singing and stories. Plus refreshments and a chat for both parents/carers and children! We ask for a contribution of £1 per adult.

For more information contact Sue Pittman (626453).

Midweek Break Over 60’s Club
Our club for the over 60’s meets at the Church Centre on the first and third Wednesday afternoons of each month between 2pm and 4pm. The club has many members and enjoys a wide varying programme of activities but always including a cup of tea or coffee and home made cakes. We ask for a contribution of 50p per person.

For more information contact Carole Bendrey (656948).

Uniformed groups
We have a good working relationship with the local uniformed groups who regularly attend Parade Services at St. John’s.

Our Building & Refurbishment plans
The building of the St. John’s Church Centre begun in the autumn of 1967 and was completed by June 1968. The time has now come for us to look towards the refurbishment and enlargement of the building. We are currently working with our architect and have plans for the enlargement of our hall, a new enlarged kitchen, a new meeting/prayer room, additional toilets and a new entrance. We are currently applying to trusts and charities for financial support towards this challenging project.

For more information contact Robert Masters (654998).
